TELECOMMUNICATIONS

Our expertise spans the telecommunications sector, extending beyond the hospitality industry to encompass various other sectors. Telecommunications involves the transmission of information over a distance through cable, telephone, or broadcasting mediums.

Within the hospitality industry and beyond, we boast a strong reputation for our ability to construct expansive telecommunications networks. Our portfolio includes projects for hotels and numerous businesses across South Africa. Our services encompass a wide range of solutions, such as PBX installations, both analogue and IP systems, as well as the provision of handsets and Cat3 cabling infrastructure.

PBX Installations: Private Branch Exchange (PBX) installations involve setting up a private telephone network used within an organization. This system allows for internal communication between users and provides external communication capabilities with the outside world. PBX installations are essential for managing incoming and outgoing calls efficiently, facilitating internal communication, and enabling features such as call forwarding, voicemail, and conferencing.

Analogue and IP Systems: Analogue and IP systems refer to the two primary technologies used in telecommunications. Analogue systems transmit voice signals in a continuous waveform, while IP (Internet Protocol) systems digitize voice signals and transmit them as data packets over computer networks, such as the internet. Analogue systems are traditional but are gradually being replaced by more advanced IP systems, which offer additional features, scalability, and integration with other digital services.

Handsets: Handsets are the physical devices used by individuals to communicate over a telecommunications network. They come in various forms, including traditional desk phones, wireless handsets, and mobile devices. Handsets are essential components of any telecommunications system, allowing users to make and receive calls, access voicemail, and utilize other features offered by the network.

Systems: In the context of telecommunications, “systems” typically refers to the comprehensive infrastructure and components necessary to establish and maintain a telecommunications network. This includes hardware such as servers, routers, switches, and software applications that manage call routing, voicemail, and other functionalities. A well-designed telecommunications system ensures reliable communication within an organization and with external parties, supporting productivity and collaboration.

Cat3 Cabling: Category 3 (Cat3) cabling is a type of twisted pair cable used primarily for telephone and Ethernet networks. It consists of four twisted pairs of copper wires and is capable of transmitting voice and data signals at speeds up to 10 Mbps. Cat3 cabling is commonly used in telecommunications installations where higher bandwidth requirements are not necessary, making it suitable for voice communication and basic internet connectivity.
